BARNACLE GOSLING'S TERRIFYING CLIFF TUMBLE IN GREENLAND

BARNACLE GOSLING'S TERRIFYING CLIFF TUMBLE IN GREENLAND

A barnacle gosling plummeting more than 120m (400ft) to follow its parents has been recorded by BBC filmmakers.
The chick’s death-defying tumble is a rite of passage among the birds that nest high up the cliffs in eastern Greenland.
In order to reach the grassy feeding grounds below, the geese call to encourage their chicks to take an alarming leap down sheer rocks.

If you will go to BBC.COM and search Barnacle Gosling's Terrifying Cliff Tumble, you can read the whole story.  It's very interesting.

"PLEASE DON'T THROW MY LEAVES AWAY"

"PLEASE DON'T THROW MY LEAVES AWAY"

Your trees are begging you not to throw their leaves away.
Their roots are deep and bring up the minerals and good things in the earth for nourishment.
Those minerals go straight to the leaves.  Then in the fall as they flutter to the ground, they are putting those minerals and good things back into the soil to nourish the roots.
Those leaves are organic matter and as they decay, all is returned to the soil.
Healthy soil is what makes a healthy garden.
(Be organic~no chemicals, please)
Most of the leaves in my yard are soft and will decay pretty quickly.  I don't mind the look of the fallen leaves.  If they bother you, you can mow over them to break them up.  Then you can rake over them and they will settle to the ground and be a good mulch, then compost for the grass and your landscape.
If you think you have too many leaves for your grass, rake them into the flower beds and extra piles around your trees.  Or, you can share them with your neighbors.

FALLING LEAVES IS HOW THE EARTH REPLENISHES ITSELF.
PLEASE DON'T THROW THE LEAVES AWAY.

KITTY CAT PICKET FENCE

KITTY CAT PICKET FENCE

Look at this kitty cat picket fence.
 Really, really cute!!
I think it would be easy to make.
A kitty cat picket gate would be really cute, too.

I love these oversized pots by this rustic garden shed.
(Both of these pictures found on Pinterest.  There were no credits, just pictures.)

REMEMBER THIS BEAUTIFUL PINK FLOWERING VINE~I HAVE SOME SEEDS TO SHARE WITH YOU

REMEMBER THIS BEAUTIFUL PINK FLOWERING VINE~I HAVE SOME SEEDS TO SHARE WITH YOU

This year it flourished much better than the summer before and it produced seed pods, again.
A few of you asked for seeds and I'll be glad to share them with you.  I've opened the seed pods and will share two or three seeds with five of my blogger friends.
Please remember that it is probably a tropical vine and might not grow in certain "zones"

I AM A HOUSE SLAVE BORN AKIWA ~ OYA, AUTHOR

I AM A HOUSE SLAVE BORN AKIWA ~ OYA, AUTHOR

I am a house slave born Akiwa
renamed Sara
I have birthed two of my slave owners children
My fairer skin
and features
Made me appealing to him
And I had no choice but to give myself
for my own safety
My children has even fairer skin
They look more like him
Then me
So they don't know I'm Their mother
or their beautiful history
His wife could not bare children
so mine became hers
And it breaks my heart
watching them grow
Knowing the things they could never know
But I watch them as they learn to read
and do as the owner does
And I kept silent out of a mother's love
Knowing nothing good could come from the truth
They treat me as a slave
sometimes even with unkind words
Even though from me they came
But for their sake I speak no words
So that their freedom will always remain
without knowing a slaves pain
